Tiska & Camille, handover between 2 civic services

Carry out your civic service mission

We are recruiting a volunteer for September 1, 2024.

You will participate in the general activity of the shelter with a particular emphasis on one of the missions to discover below. Throughout your journey at L’Autre Ferme, you will be encouraged in your initiatives and put in contact with the necessary resource people to learn what you may need.

The mission is 6 months, 24 hours per week. It is essential to have a vehicle to get to the farm. There is no accommodation available on the farm.

Announcement and application  on the civic service agency website.

Our different missions

"Pond" Mission

L’Autre Ferme has a fish pond very frequented by batrachians and birds. The volunteer will have to do research to establish a list of the animal and plant species present, to question them about thinking about an educational project for the reception of different audiences: schoolchildren, people with disabilities, retirement homes…

"Hedges" Mission

L’Autre Ferme, in collaboration with other local organizations, create a citizen micro-nursery. The volunteer will take part in this creation to learn how to differentiate the species, to collect and preserve the seeds, and to offer playful participatory programs open to the public.

"Disabled people" Mission

L’Autre Ferme cooperates with La Résidence Les Côtes de St Claud to welcome people with disabilities who come to help on the farm. The volunteer, after a training period on the reception and the specific needs of this public, will have to propose and implement other actions in favor of the public prevented.

Do your internship with us!

We regularly welcome trainees, particularly as part of Animal Health Assistant (ASV) or environmental management/protection training.

We also welcome researchers (ethology, sociology, animal law, etc.) immersed in the life of the sanctuary. Preferential rate for on-site accommodation.

Duration from 1 week to 2 months. Please note that we cannot cover your transport, meal or accommodation costs.

It is essential to have a personal vehicle.

Contact us to tell us about your project and your motivation for coming to us!

Become a volunteer

We organize volunteer workcamps on an ad hoc basis. Site maintenance, mulching of hedges, protection of shelters or light or more serious DIY: there is something to do for all talents to express themselves.

The projects take place over 1 to 2 days. We offer tea and coffee but everyone must bring their own picnic, respecting the vegan ethics of our place.

It is essential to have a personal vehicle. We will help organize carpools.

Send us your contact details, availability and tell us about yourself here!
